A Fancy Title

 So... I did a thing.

I was not drunk (don't you love stories that start this way??), high, or having a nervous breakdown. I just... did a thing. A thing such as... buy a horse more than halfway across the country from a picture and description, on an online auction for ranch horses. Oh, and paid more for her than either of my two other horses combined. heh

So, here we meet A Fancy Title. To be forever known as "Fancy." And also forever known as the least fancy horse I've possibly ever met. Unless you count jewelry on every workable surface as fancy. Then... she definitely lives up to her title. haha Catch that? A pun. Fancy Title? Her name?? LoL Just go with it!

Anyway, meet Fancy's picture!

Yes, I looked through a book of 300 aimals in South Dakota and had to have her. Do you see that build? And yes, I know I'm supposed to be looking for a hubby horse here: 15 years old, well broke.. but she's so gorgeous..

So, you must be wondering: How does a sane, sober, normally fairly reasonable horse person buy a ranch QH sight unseen on an online auction from SD???? Heh. Well.. it all started with Logan getting bucked off Andi.

*Cue memory lane music*

"I'm never getting on another one of your CRAZY THOROUGHBREDS!!! I want a RANCH HORSE!! A well-broke, nice, stands when you walk away, Quarter Horse RANCH HORSE!!" (Are you beginning to see how this went??) So, I went on Google and looked up "Ranch Horses for Sale". And.. Lo and behold, Krogman Quarter Horses just happened to be having their yearly stock auction in a couple weeks in.. Valentine, Nebraska. And look! A catalog! Ooh.. So many pretty horses- most of them not really my style, but some of them kinda cute. Okay. Focus. A horse for Logan.. Ooh, that one is so pretty, I could just see it jumpi- NO! Horse for Logan, dammit! Okay. We want them to be saddle broke with some miles. Okay... 10 horses. How about over 8 years old.. Now we have 3 horses to look at. Well, that narrowed it down, huh. Ooh.. Look at this chestnut, she's kind of cute. Look at that shoulder! Is she a TB?? Nope. She is def QH. Although she does have mainly TB 3 gens back.. But definitely a QH! And look! She's been used for everything! Says here she's got some go, but she's never offered a buck. This is perfect, just perfect. And she's the oldest one here, so she probably won't go for as much as the super cute 8 year old who's winning everything at the fair. Ooh.. Let's put her on the list. For sure.

And.. we waited. Obsessively looking at bloodlines (hers are quite nice), race records (never broke down, higher Equibase rating than Sher), and Googled her name (sold for $10k from her previous ranch where she was a broodmare.. okaaaayyyy...). And.. I guess we'll see how much she goes for from the auction. I mean, what do QHs go for? Like.. $500???

Hah. Oh, ye of little QH knowledge.
